Children's Books as Readers' Theater

We are studying the rain forest this week and someone recommended The Reading Lady because there’s a readers’ theater script there for The Great Kapok Tree.  It turns out there are lots of children’s books that have been converted to readers’ theater scripts for kids to read and act out the parts.  My kids love to do readers’ theater because it goes so well with their love of acting, and it’s a fun way to get some reading/vocabulary in while exploring good books.  It looks like there’s some other good stuff on the site too.

  1. That is a great site, Alicia. Rachel loves putting on plays and has been writing them herself. I think she would enjoy these and maybe involve her friends in them, too. 🙂
