Fine Feathered Friends

We got to hang out at fabulous Erica’s place last week and we went out and visited the chickens they got this spring.   The girls got to hold some and I couldn’t believe how soft they are!  Wow.  They’re just silky, and they were so sweet tempered.

We got to feel some squishy eggs that didn’t have enough calcium in the shell (practice eggs, Erica said!) last time we were there.  The kids have learned a lot from these chickens, from what they eat (what don’t they?) to kinds of hybrids to male behavior.

But mostly we’ve just been having fun getting to know them and holding and petting them.  🙂

These ones are called Black Stars but I always forget and think they’re called Rock Stars.  🙂
