Happy Leap Day!

Here’s a little video to explain it all in a fun way.

What are you going to do with your extra day?  🙂

Mummy Dearest

Anna has decided she wants to learn lots more about ancient Egypt.

She took these photos at the Egyptian display at the Science Museum of Minnesota and she got even more hooked on that fascinating time and culture.

So it looks like we’re diving into some Egyptian fun!

Here’s a bit of stuff I’ve found on the subject to start us out tomorrow…

I haven’t looked at those in depth but they look quite thorough!

I also found this list of resources online and filtered out some dead or for-pay links but haven’t checked them all out yet…

That should keep us busy for a while!  🙂

And a few of my latest yappings elsewhere…

Now, I have to go run lines with Daryl, who was promoted to the lead in the mystery dinner theater next week.  There’s a neck rub in it for me as I read, so it’s win-win!

Life With Fiona

Life is falling into place here, now that Fiona is almost four months old. It seems like years since I was pregnant, and she fits into our family so well.  She’s such a happy, alert, fun little baby!

This has been a strange, strange winter. We had virtually no snow and lots of bizarre warm weather, which is just crazy for Minnesota.  I enjoyed the lack of winter, but everything seemed mixed up and out of sorts in other ways too.  I suppose the balance was thrown off by the new little person and all of the kids had to react in their own ways till we found a new balance.  It all seems to be settling back into a good place now.  It just takes a lot of work on Mama’s part when these things happen, and can lead to an extra level of crazy in the house for a while!  🙂

All sorts of great things have been happening too. Victoria spent a week in New York City.  Anna spent a week (twice!) in the Twin Cities.  Jack has a snazzy new camera and has been going crazy taking pictures, plus he’s been writing his first play.  Alex got to spend a week at home with Daddy while we all went adventuring and I’ve been upping the time reading books and doing crafts with him.  And Fiona… she’s just magical and wonderful and nice and fat and beautiful.

I am so in love with my family. Life is so noisy and crazy and messy and chaotic, but these are some pretty awesome people I live with.  Life is good.  And when it’s not, there’s chocolate and wine.  😉
